Kylie grabbed Carlo’s arm. “Let me try!”

“Give her a chance,” said Maddy.

Carlo looked at Stace and Benji. When they nodded, Kylie smiled and Doris barked.

Pumpkin shouted, “Let’s go!”

Curly nudged Pumpkin when he saw Kylie. Pumpkin laughed.

“Is Tiny your secret weapon? Where’s your ladder?”

Kylie poked out her tongue. The referee blew her whistle, threw the dice, and pointed at Pumpkin. The dice stopped on three.

Pumpkin walked under the hoop and shot the ball into the basket.

“One for the All Stars,” he said.
